Welcome to WinAtSchool
WinAtSchool is an online mathematical and statistical competition for Year 10 and 11 pupils (in all UK secondary schools) brought to you by the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education and Winton Capital Management.
The competition is fun and easy to enter, with prizes for winning schools. A bank of questions has been created from which a random sample of questions 
will be selected for each student.
There are different levels, which should encourage children of all abilities to take part. The quiz launches in September 2012 and will culminate with the live WinAtSchool National Final in June 2013.
Stage 1 is an online quiz of multiple choice questions on statistics and related mathematic, which will be scored for each pupil and school that participates and answers will be given. Questions will be based on the Key Stage 4 level Mathematics Curriculum and a certificate will be available to download and print at the end of the quiz.
Stage 2 will also be multiple choice, but based on the harder end of KS4 and beyond. The answers will not be displayed. Finalists will be chosen from the 12 UK schools achieving the best scores in the online quiz at Stage 2. A team of four pupils from each of the winning schools will be invited to attend the final.
Stage 3 is a live final, which is a national competitive event for the best 12 schools at a central location in June 2013. This event will take place in front of an audience of their peers and teachers. The final will be based on the use of a clicker/voting system. Questions will be displayed on a screen with a choice of four answers for each. Conferring on each question will be allowed within a time limit, and one team member will be responsible for using the clicker to key in the team’s chosen answer. A certificate of participation will be provided to each school of the 12 schools taking part in the Live Final, plus £500 towards travel costs.
